International Business Breakfast

November 9, 2006 – 7:30 to 8:45am at the “W” Hotel, Seattle The International Business Breakfast is a joint fundraiser which brings together business leaders and the educational communities of John Stanford International School and Hamilton International Middle School. Guests enjoy a wonderful breakfast, entertainment by students, and a program highlighting key issues in international education. Together we hope to raise over $100,000 in support of International Education in Seattle Public Schools. (Info sheet available here.) Partnerships: Businesses can support us by sponsoring tables at the breakfast ($1500 for a table of 10), by making a donation to the event, by giving at the $150 level for a seat at the event, and by partnering with us on projects that benefit our schools. This year we’re adding a new “Raise your paddle to fund an item” event that will target specific needs in our international education program including new international education initiatives in Seattle Public Schools. Invited Guests: Lori Matsukawa and Ken Alhadeff will join us again this year. Special guests include Ann Marie Kimball professor of epidemiology from the University of Washington who will speak on Global Health Issues and Carla Santorno Seattle Public Schools’ Chief Academic Officer who will present the district’s new 3-5 year plan for International Education in Seattle. How you can help: We recognize that each family’s budget is different and we do not want this event to become another fundraiser aimed specifically at our families. That being said, we welcome parents who would like to participate and bring new international educational supporters with them to the table. The best way to help is to buy a seat for yourself – and one for a friend or business associate! We have a sales team who can always use help in identifying and contacting individuals and organizations with an interest in supporting International Education. We will also need a limited number of volunteers on the day of the event to help with the raise your paddle event and a few more to help with registration and oversight of /the student presenters.
