HIMS Community Q&A Sessions with Principal Katie Cryan-Leary and Assistant Principal Jesely Alvarez

Tuesday, October 30th and Thursday, November 1st at 6:30 pm Something you've been wondering about at HIMS, but you haven't had the chance to ask yet? Ms. Cryan-Leary and Ms. Alvarez are conducting two meetings for parents and others in the HIMS community to provide you with the answers. They will make a short presentation followed by a Q&A session. To be sure to offer a convenient opportunity to families throughout the city, there are two locations for these sessions: the first is on October 30th at Aki Kurose Middle School. On November 1st, they will be at HIMS. Coffee and desserts will provided by the PTSA. If you have any particular issues you would like them to address, please submit them to HIMS parent Mark Miller. They will take questions from the floor at the meeting as well.

International Arts Celebration!

Thursday, May 10th at 7 p.m. Come watch the stars come out at Lincoln High School Auditorium (just up the block from HIMS) as HIMS students perform in the annual International Arts Celebration! Performances by students from Hamilton International and John Stanford International Schools will feature Japanese fan dancing, Cuban song-writing, Taiko drumming, West African dance, Chinese Ribbon dancing, and Afro-Caribbean drumming and we will also offer a gallery walk showcasing International Visual Arts projects from the year. PTSA General Meeting

Thursday, May 24th at 7:00 pm Please join us for the penultimate PTSA meeting for this year, which will include a Volunteer Appreciation party, hosted by the PTSA! We will have an ice cream social to celebrate all of the volunteers that put in so much time at HIMS. The meeting will be held in the auditorium at HIMS.

Books…books…and reading – it's FUN-damental

Don't miss Literacy Night and the Book Fair At HIMS next Tuesday, March 13th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Celebrate the power of the written word with your kid! It is the first MAJOR school-wide event of the second semester – and you are invited! Come see our student performances featuring poetry, dance and theater in English, Spanish and Japanese. There will be a Writers Workshop area; an exhibit that shows the writing process – too much to mention here.
