Hamilton School Tour Schedule

The school tour schedule for incoming 6th graders starts in January. The first tour is Tuesday, January 9 at 8:30 - 10 AM, and is for fifth graders and families interested in the Spanish and Japanese immersion programs for advanced Spanish or Japanese speakers. This is the only tour with a special emphasis on the immersion programs. Our other tour dates are: Tuesdays, January 16, 23, 30 (8:30-10am) and Thursdays, February 8 and 15 (8:30–10am).

A new evening information meeting for prospective students and families has been added on Tuesday, February 13 (7-8pm). Please call the office at Hamilton 252-5810 to let us know which tour you will be attending.

For more information about the Spanish and Japanese immersion programs at Hamilton, please contact International Education Coordinator Sharon Rodgers.

HIMS Birthday Celebration Basket Raffle

On January 30, Hamilton will be celebrating its 80th birthday. Festivities will ensue, and as part of the fun, the PTSA will be holding a basket raffle. Fabulous baskets filled with your donated items are raffled off at the end of the evening, although you need not be present to win!

The following teachers have selected a “basket theme” for their classes. Look at your student’s LA/SS teacher to see what theme they selected; then bring (send) in a new item that goes with that theme. Each teacher has a collection box in their room. Items should be taken to your student’s LA/SS teacher by Monday, January 22.

Teacher and Basket Theme

  • Ms. Chacon -- Chinese Basket

  • Ms. Christensen -- Mariners

  • Mr. Davis -- Drop Everything and Read

  • Mr. Fisher -- Couch Potato

  • Ms. Greenberg -- Artist’s Corner

  • Ms. Gerlitz -- Cultures of the World

  • Mr. Jarosz -- Great Outdoors

  • Ms. Miller -- Coffee and Chocolate

  • Ms. Nuno -- At the Movies

  • Ms. Smith -- Sports Mania!

A notice was sent home with your student on Tuesday, December 5, to give you more information, and ideas for items to send in.

Then either come to the 80th Birthday Celebration, or pre-order raffle basket tickets for your chance to win!

To pre-order, print out the form and choose the baskets you hope to win and the number of tickets you want to purchase. Tickets are $1 each. Remember, the more you purchase the better your chance to win a fabulous basket. Please be sure to include your name and telephone number on your order form, so we can add that information to your raffle ticket!

If you have any question, please contact Kari Monsen or call her at 524-5587. More information will come out on the e-Bulletin, and be on the PTSA website as the event gets closer. If you want to help with this fun activity, please let Kari know. Many hands make light work!
