Orientation for New Students & Families

Wednesday, August 27 2008 6pm Pizza Dinner in the Cafeteria 7pm Program in the Auditorium This meeting is for incoming 6th grade families and for 7th and 8th grade students who are new to Hamilton International Middle School. All events are at Lincoln High School (Hamilton's interim site during renovation) at 4400 Interlake Avenue North.

6th grade Opening Day

Wednesday, September 6 6th Graders Only! Report to Auditorium between 7:30 - 8 AM. This will be the first day for 6th graders to take the regular school bus (yellow bus) to and from school. There is NO school bus for 7th and 8th graders on this day. (7th and 8th grade student schedules will be available on The SOURCE on Wednesday, September 3) This is a regular school day (7:45AM - 2:15PM). Buses will use regular routes and times. This day is for ONLY 6th graders so the Hamilton staff can help the new 6th grade students get to know the school and each other students will have an opportunity to: Visit each class and teacher on their schedule Get their locker and have help and time learning how to use it GO to an assembly and take a building tour to help them get to know the school Get their lunch personal identification number (PIN) and find out how the lunchroom works. We hope this special day for 6th graders will help them feel welcome, confident, and committed to this important new beginning.

7th & 8th Grade Opening Day

Thursday, September 4 School buses will run regular routes for all bus students. 6th grade - Report to 1st period by 7:45 AM 7th & 8th grade - Report to 1st period by 7:45 AM. If you do not have a copy of your schedule from The SOURCE, come early to pick it up in the Auditorium before reporting to 1st period. The interim site for Hamilton is: Lincoln Building 4400 Interlake Avenue North

Supply List for 2008-09

Supplies that all students need starting the first day of school: 1) 3 ring binder with rings at least 2 inches wide (a binder with a zipper is a good idea) 2) Supply of 3 hole loose leaf filler paper (no tear-out) 3) Colored pencils 4) Supply of #2 pencils with erasers (2 to be kept in school pouch at all times) 5) Supply of blue or black ball point pens (2 to be kept in school pouch at all times) 6) Ruler 7) Subject dividers that go into 3 ring binder (dividers with pockets recommended) 8) Large pencil pouch to be used in 3 ring binder 9) 2 spiral notebooks (at least 70 pages) 10) Calculator 6th & 7th grade - Basic solar calculator with case or cover 8th grade - scientific calculator (TI-30XA or CASIO fx-260 recommended) 6th grade students must also have these supplies scissors glue stick If students could donate a box of tissues to their classroom supply, it would be greatly appreciated.
